TOM REICHERT – PRESIDENT AND OWNER

B.S., Mechanical Engineering Technology, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo

Mr. Reichert was first introduced to mechanical systems and air conditioning while in the U.S. Navy. He has worked as a manufacturer’s representative for major HVAC equipment manufacturers such as Carrier, Trane and McQuay. In addition Tom was an operating engineer for an 8,000 ton central plant for Eastman Kodak and as a central plant operator while getting his engineering degree at Cal Poly SLO. As a manufacturer’s representative he called on some of the top mechanical consultants in Dallas, TX, Shreveport, LA, and San Diego, CA. During this time Tom gained the experience of designing systems to apply the equipment he represented such as chillers (centrifugal, absorption, and air cooled) as well as pumps, cooling towers, air units, fans, VAV systems, and other components. With a sincere desire to save energy through HVAC systems design, Tom has focused on energy efficient systems such as primary variable flow, load shifting, thermal energy storage, and natural gas cooling. Tom uses his system and equipment knowledge to help his company in the design, layout, energy upgrades, and commissioning for numerous mechanical systems.

In addition to his B.S. degree, Tom has completed Carrier Corporation’s 12-week HVAC design course in Syracuse, New York along with numerous management and engineering seminars on system design, and commissioning. Tom has taught classes on HVAC design, and has been asked to present on commissioning at a local college. He has served on the board of directors for the Southwest Chapter of BCxA (Building Commissioning Association). He is an ASHRAE certified commissioning provider and a member of the CCC (California Commissioning Collaborative), the USGBC (US Green Building Council), and ASHRAE (American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers). He is also on the education training committee for ABC (Associated Builders & Contractors).
